Horn Pad Removal

In order to remove the steering wheel, you first need to pull off the horn pad in order to get to the nut that holds the wheel on. I got mine off without breaking anything by tugging first at the bottom portion of the horn pad (my 944 shop manuals show how to remove a 4-spoke steering wheel, which was on the 928, while the 928 manuals only show the 3 spoke wheel removal). So, I'd suggest tugging gently on the lower portion of the horn pad to get that off, then move to the top (if I remember correctly, there are also little plastic pieces on either side of the horn pad that just snap on and off, so don't worry if one of those comes off in your hand:).
