Water Pump Replacement

With 25 years Porsche experience, plus having gone to the 928S4 Porsche school when the car was introduced, my mechanic felt VERY strongly that only a new water pump should be used when doing the T-Belt service. In his experience, he said, he has seen many bearing failures in rebuilt pumps, with the same catastrophic results as an outright belt failure.

So, we replaced with absolutely new stuff. If a rebuilt pump fails, the supplier will warranty the pump....but what about the 32 valves, and gawd knows whatever else was turned into alloy noodles when the bearings decided to freeze?

GUESS who warranties those?
