Battery Warning Light ALWAYS On

The alternator is fried. The warning light stayed on because voltage is flowing thru the B+ terminal on the back of the alternator. I would replace the alternator and charge the battery off the car. Reinstall the battery, start the engine and do a voltage check to verify proper operation. Everything should be OK.
