Crankshaft Pulley Bolt Removal

Crankshaft Pulley Bolt Removal

#1
In response to the recent discussion about the crank pulley bolt:
I too broke a 1/2" extension removing it. I ended up buying a Craftsman deep impact socket. They are designed for impact guns so they are stronger and it is actually long enough that I didn't need an extension. I got the bolt off with a breaker bar and a large pipe plus alot of pulling.
Hope this helps,

I used a 1/2" breaker bar, 1 1/16" impact socket (seemed to fit better than
27mm) and a 4+' cheater, heated the bolt and pulleys with heat gun. Came
off easily! New water pump is on and have removed, cleaned, & installed the
tensioner (boot was broken & hard as a rock, no oil inside!).
